Cabo Verde
Documentary
On the frontlines of the climate crisis, small island states such as Cabo Verde are also shaped by enduring traditions of making, cultural memory, and collective care.
Barro i Mar is a documentary following the revival of Terracota, a ceramics atelier in Cabo Verde, and the people who come together around clay.
Blending observational footage, personal testimony, and archival material, the film traces the relationship between clay, place, and community. It asks how local material knowledge can be sustained and carried forward in a changing island context shaped by tourism, migration, climate vulnerability, and economic uncertainty.
